Joy's 28th birthday was Friday. YAAAH!!! An AUTUMN birthday!!
This card was a simple design that was made even EASIER by using several papers from a collection. Other than the made-in-advance flower of Paper Studio Everyday Kraft paper, the other paper elements -- the background paper, PTI Christmas Label die-cut sentiment, and Sweet 'n Sassy stamps die-cut leaves -- were all from a DCWV Harvest Gathering paper stack. The lace and half-pearl were from my stash.
Though it's not an especially CREATIVE card, I simply LOVE the kraft and autumn papers, so am HAPPY with it.
This should be the LAST card made at my dining room table for all of my no-longer-needed preschool equipment has been removed and LOTS of my crafting supplies are stacked and scattered all over what will SOON be my Crafting Studio!! WOO HOOO!! It may not be beautiful and perfectly organized, but the room will be ALL MINE!!!
HAPPY RETIREMENT TO ME! HAPPY RETIREMENT TO ME! HAPPY RETIREMENT & CARDMAKING!! HAPPY RETIREMENT TO MEEEE!!

oh, my, deb--a great big congrats to you!! retirement AND your very own studio!! i'm doing a happy dance for you! beautiful flower--love the lace and cute leaves!
ReplyDeleteThank you for REJOICING with me, Lynn!!
ReplyDeleteMy room is small and will seem quite TINY due to all the STUFF in it, but it will be WONDERFUL to have my OWN table where I can leave unfinished projects (without major GUILT). And, my supplies will NO LONGER be crammed in every spare nook and cranny. Instead, it will be crammed in ONE location! (grin)
Nice! love those leaves and flower!
ReplyDeleteI am soooo happy, happy, happy for you Deb, you have your own studio! were you able to fit ALL your supplies and yourself in there? hehehe
Oooh, Donna!
ReplyDeleteI am STILL unpacking stuff!! Jer got a lil OVER-anxious (grin) and moved a BUNCH of tubs in the room. So many that I couldn't even MOVE! So, I have had to haul it all OUT into the living room (which had already been CLEARED of all Prek stuff and deep-cleaned). Ah well.
Now, I am in the process of unpacking supplies and finding "homes" for it all.
Just today, I made a decision of FUNCTION over BEAUTY. I cleared all my childcare files out of my 2-drawer cabinet and gave all of my theme-planning folders to a lady who is opening a new childcare center in a neighboring town. (She was SO tickled!! :) Then, instead of moving OUT the metal cabinet, I placed it beside my craft table and FILLED it with paper punches. Having the cabinet there will make the room cramped, but it will keep my punches HANDY while I'm crafting. (Moriah's gonna complain about the lack of aesthetics, I am sure.)
I figure that I will have space for my antique office chair (purchased from my mom a few months back) and about a foot of empty space behind it. On the OTHER side of the table, I will have about two feet of empty space, with cabinets and carts lining ALL around the room!
Good thing I like COZY!! (And, am not claustrophobic. :)
